This intensive portfolio development course is designed to meet the VCUarts Qatar admissions portfolio requirements, emphasizing creative thinking and artistic development alongside drawing skills. Participants will receive personalized feedback and practical experience, gaining insight into the vitality of arts and design education at VCUarts Qatar.

This interdisciplinary course integrates visual storytelling, design, and artistic expression. Participants explore the interconnectedness of these disciplines through hands-on projects, learning composition, color theory, typography, and visual storytelling.

From film posters to multimedia installations, participants express their artistic choices. Utilizing VCUarts Qatar resources, participants create elements for film projects, adding to their portfolios. By course end, participants exhibit their comprehensive understanding of integrated visual arts.

The Summer Art & Design Program for High school students 2025 is an intensive three-week program with an optional week of portfolio development classes. It is designed to empower participants to shape their educational journey by offering an introduction to various majors and allowing them to delve deeply into a chosen discipline. 

The course commences with an overview of four of the undergraduate degree programs offered at VCUarts Qatar. Participants have the opportunity to select from a range of majors: Graphic Design, Interior Design, or Painting and Printmaking, and Kinetic Imaging which they will study in-depth. 

For those seeking to submit portfolios as part of university applications in art and design, optional portfolio development classes are available. These classes aim to prepare prospective students for the application process of art and design universities.  

In this course, participants will be invited to unravel the exciting world of Kinetic Imaging—a dynamic fusion of art and motion. As Kinetic Imaging is a new discipline introduced at VCUarts Qatar starting in Fall 2024, this program will embark on a creative adventure, delving into various aspects of kinetic art, creative coding and moving images. Participants will be provided with a solid foundation, combining theoretical insights with hands-on projects that encourage experimentation and innovation.
